There must be some squad disharmony there has to be with players leaving and MB make a host of changes.  Its transitional.  When you play 352 our threat is down the middle and wing backs.  So your opposition push wingers forward nullifying the wing back threat.  That leaves the midfield so u hope they can make things happen.  I dont think not having wingers is a great idea tbh.

I still think suggesting his sacking now is over the top, even the best teams have off days, let's give it until the end of the season and see where we are, at the end of the day we aren't in a dangerous position as of yet and I imagine the majority would've taken it at the start of the season.

We have often struggled over the years against teams with poor current form, against so called "small" teams and against teams that are part-time. Just think of all those dropped  home points against these type of teams in non-league.

Why cannot we change our mindset and performances against these teams?  It is much easier for us winning away again Luton, Carlisle and Plymouth when they are top!  And winning at Cambridge when they were doing very well.  

This all raises the hopes of fans that we do well in the future - only to have these hopes cruelly dashed like today.

The real concern in my opinion is the lack of changes even when 3-0 down. By this point it's clear that the way you started the match isn't working and it really can't get a lot worse. So why are there no changes? Either he doesn't know how to change things for the better which would be worrying in itself but more likely is he's now hamstrung by his own transfer policy. We have no wingers. Well, we have one. I understand he wanted to change some of the squad from what he inherited but by getting rid of all the wingers, who weren't world beaters but were fine, and not replacing them we are left with 3-5-2 which doesn't work when teams work out they can put men high on the wing backs and press us back and then overload us down the said wings.

The only change we could realistically make would be to go 4-3-3 and have Yussuf and Asante out wide but that's not really going to help us in this situation. I'm not going to call for him to be out just yet but I have very little faith in him. If we don't improve in the second half and have another couple of performances like this before the end of the season then questions really need to be asked.

I came away from last weekend thinking this 352 just won't work and was totally unconvinced with quite alot I saw while others came away quite happy with it.

Only ever done that once in all the time I followed Town. Makes me think why do I bother spending 14 hours on a Saturday to see them at home as well as following them away.  17 games and only 4 wins. Played rubbish in more than half.

Your going to feel really daft when we win 5 - 4  

Though I could not afford it today I do a 10/12 hour trip for home games so I know what you mean. Last week apart from what I have seen the football has been poor.

I am getting a bit worried about the Bignot regime now. It feels like he has pulled a lot of stuff to pieces that has been built in the last couple of years and I am not sure what he is trying to do to replace it.

Listening on MP and feel sorry for the 700 odd Town fans. No doubt on RH later MB will quite rightly talk about how good the fans are rather than the ineptitude of today's performance.

If "FFS" is used for every bad sub and formation change,  it sounds as though we are getting beaten 10-0.  (Although it does anyway today).

No, not at all. I've been watching Town and football in general long enough to know that things change quickly and we may look back at this day and wonder what all the doom and gloom was about. On the other hand, we may look back at another Newell situation but that's the way of it in footy. You just wait for the good times, which may be with this manager, or may not.

Yeah I see that and its a fair point. I just can't see what we are trying to do at the moment, when we sink we seem to sink pretty deep under MB at the moment.

Its just worrying me because hurst stabilised this club and we had a backbone of players who'd been here a long time and love the club and our transfer policy was good and we were well ran and sensible, thought from
Bignots time at solihull we were ready to continue that good work and that we'd see this season as a succesful one make a couple of signings hope for a chance of the playoffs but be happy with midtable, bignot would asses and then build on that for next season in a way he saw fit to take us to the next level.
Instead its like he's come in like a grenade, style of play completely gone, transfer policy gone mad, we bought like everything was wrong and we Were in a relegation scrap. Just worrying because theyve already hinted they wont be spending in the summer, and the emotional scars from the past make me worry we'll fall back into the cycle of manager starts a season with no budget, does badly, gets sacked, give new manager lots of money to make short term minded signings to escape relegation, and repeat

Got to stay calm and we have to stay with Bignot until the end of the season. I have certainly not enjoyed the Bignot reign so far and so no real method in the way we play. Luton was a bit better last week. Apart from that pretty dire. Osbourne looks a good player , I have not been impressed with Clements and looks like a downgrade on Dis and Sommerfield to me. Early days I guess but I would be very nervous if we did not have a few points on the board as we do look a very poor team now. Hopefully an honest interview to come but this does feel shocking UTM

I feel the interview will be wasted on about what happened with the fans etc.
Rather than the real issues of formation. Fitness etc

I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'

Surely the players have to take the responsibility for being 4-0 down in less than half an hour?

Perhaps Bignot was too late making changes, and history will show ultimately if he will be a clown or a hero for us, but how can the same 11 as last week start so badly?

When we kicked off I thought an unchanged team was promising, as I thought that might be virtually the first time this season?

Town boss Marcus Bignot felt that it was right to go across and apologise to the Town fans after today's 5-0 drubbing at Crewe Alexandra.

He said: "There was a lot of frustration from the supporters, it needed me to go over.

"I needed to go over to thank our supporters at the end. We are very appreciative and I have always had a relationship – whether playing or managing – with the supporters.

"They've paid their hard earned money and worked all week - travelled across to Crewe for an absolutely disappointing result.

"One or two missed me going over initially to thank the supporters, so I just mad sure that was the case again.

"They have every right to vent their frustrations, I respect that."
