Are there fewer crimes or arrests? What are the statistics? Because I'd like to see them. If the police think it shortens drinking time before the game and therefore reduces the chances of violence etc, then what about the extra time fans have after the match to get drunk and smash up the town? Of course, I'm making all football fans sound like hooligans, which they're absolutely not. It's just the police that treat us like that.
