Shrewsbury have been getting a lot of praise for the accommodation of Disabled Supporters in good viewing area's of  their new stadium,

I hope similar thought is put into our new stadium,

Rather than put them next to the pitch or at the bottom of the stand,

Like Shrewsbury give them a better view from higher up in the stand

You don't need to be in a wheelchair to be disabled Pete. GTFC policy is to only give a Season Ticket discount to disabled if they sit in the Main Stand - let's hope that changes too.

Ever since the introduction of all seater stands I have thought the conversions were unsafe and unfriendly to the less mobile at most grounds including BP. How on earth would elderly supporters escape from the main stand in a fire? Climbing over the seats isn't that easy for the able bodied young let alone people who are less mobile. Because the stands were not designed for seats the rows are very close together. The seats are uncomfortable and it is murder to try and move along a row.

The Findus is better but it's certainly not perfect for evacuation and movement. The only real safety factor is that concrete doesn't burn. Designers should realise you don't need to be registered disabled to require a seat and if a stand is designed for seats then supporters pay enough to deserve a decent one with enough room for comfort. In a lot of cases this would be sufficient for most of the disabled with any other special arrangements for wheelchairs being made separately.

I  too think  if you are registered  disabled you should be able to sit where you want,

If you are in a wheelchair then you will need to go where the club have arranged for you,

Come on Town make sure the new stadium is  disabled friendly with the most up to date facilities.

I really worry about the part of the Findus where the toilets, bar and refreshments are, if you go down there at half time it's chaos and often tempers are frayed and the stewarding feels weak. Sooner or later there will be an incident of some sort.
