Read this in the paper this morning.

Jack Rodwell is the first player in top-flight history since 1888 to complete the equivalent of an entire league season without a victory. None of his past 38 Premier League starts for Sunderland (36) or Manchester City (2) have been won (17 draws, 21 defeats).

I'm just interested in what people think about that. Would it make any difference if your club signed Jack Rodwell? Is he a jinx, a not very good player or just plain unlucky?

It's a quite amazing statistic though isn't it and one that will probably hang round his neck for the rest of his career no matter how many winning games he plays from now on.

He should never of gone to Man City. It killed his carer drawn in by big money instead of showing a little loyalty and getting consistant first team football at  Everton

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

I guess it depends how you view 'killed'.  Personally, I would agree with you, but if he now has a lot more money in the bank and bigger and better possessions, he may consider it successful ??
No pressure whilst playing for the reserves, easy(ish) lifestyle I would imagine.  It just might appeal to some.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

One of those English players mooted as the next Gerrard/Lampard who actually turned out to be not all that good after all. There have been lots of those, mind.

I'd imagine Man City must have offered him ridiculous money for the move - might have been better for his career to have stayed and played at Everton, but it must be very difficult to turn down an offer which would set you up for life. Not that his salary at Everton wouldn't have been enough to set him up for life!

Did he get a league winners medal at Man City, or had he moved on by then?

Only starts? I presume he has made plenty of substitute appearances for Sunderland some of which ended in victories I imagine, but I guess they don't count

Bale had a similar record for Spurs for quite some time, something in the region of 20 appearances without a win. Around the same time when Redknapp wanted to ship him off too Forest.

Mainly he's a poor player in a poor team, Sunderland cant have won that many games overall in his time at the club, so its not the greatest combo!
