Football clubs do seem to love a good conference venue.

With the growth in the number of conference centres, the charges will tumble and the League will be able to hold their meetings in England.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I'm struggling to work out how building a conference centre will help with 'an improved match day experience' though. Or will all those sales managers on an awayday boost the atmosphere.

It's more to do with finances KM. The conference centre helps pay for the stadium and hopefully improve the squad. Maybe even bog roll for comfy new toilets. Thus an improved match day experience all round

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

The Thai's that own Reading have been after this since they bought the club (the first thing they did was change the sponsorship to their energy drink brand). The overall development is Elm Park, they say the "matchday experience" would be improved supposedly by the additional restaurants and bars. Anyone that has visited the Mad Stad will know that the only thing near the ground is a B and Q and a McDonalds. It's basically the owners plan to get a decent return on their investment.

Now based in reading, do I class as an exile yet?

Imagine if you had a business and it only opened for 25 days in the year, That's 340 days when it earns next to nothing. That's what football is like at places like BP. The matchday experience will be improved indirectly by all that extra money coming in!

Bit indirect. Would have been better to say it'll bring more money in to the club.

If I were a Reading fan I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for better players to come rolling in.
