So when not eating fish and chips....where in Grimsby is the best for a chinese takeaway?

Always used to be the Peking Palace years ago, then when they were a bit rubbish ended up going to Chung's Choice, but that's shut now.

Recommendations?

Golden City, Littlefield Lane is the best in town in my opinion.

I used to love the Victor Street one but haven't tried it since new management took over. My brother says it's crap though

I actually live around the corner from there but prefer to go to either of the ones down North Sea Lane - Golden Bridge best followed by New China.

Used to go to the one near the Middlethorpe shops but that has been pretty crummy on the couple of occasions I've been in recent years.

I went past a Chinese takeaway in Brisbane Australia, that was called The Ming Inn.

Made me chuckle

Carr lane gets delivered in 5mins

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Promise a man someone else's fish and he votes Labour.

Used to be my go to Chinese takeaway but the last one we had from there was crap and i've never had one delivered in 5 minutes. I would worry about 5 min delivery anyway, as they obviously aint busy, which is not a good sign.

All academic now anyway as i can no longer eat takeaways.

Hai's Palace is probably the better Chinese in Humberston, down Fieldhouse Rd...although The Golden Brige on North Sea Lane for entertainment, the little old woman is hilarious when its busy, she just hangs the phone up and gets stroppy with customers when SHE cant understand them.

Actually, I'll amend my recommendation. I had a chinese from the Shanghai Express just off the marketplace the other day and it was lurvely. Could be my new go-to venue for chinese fodder.

Shanghai Express or St Peters are our usual choices with both serving excellent salt and pepper king prawns and Singapore Chow Mains

I've already suggested the parents try New Joy and Golden City, will add Shanghai Express to the list I think.

New Joy Grimsby Road is good, New China is good, Carr Lane, Evergreen not to bad either. I do like Golden Phoenix but no one else like's it in the family it has a cantonese taste to it.

New Joy has become the one the family love the most, it does very fresh and healthy chinese takeaway.
