Not even one of Marcus Bignot's motivational speeches can shield me from the huge wave of despair on hearing this news. Trump for president. Not even Hollywood would have made that one, they would have thought it too far fetched!

There are obviously plenty of hard of thinking people in America if they think a lying, corrupt, sexist, racist crooked halfwit who has been bankrupt on 6 occasions for all his claims of business acumen is a suitable leader. Has anybody else seen the film, 'Idiocracy'? We're almost there as it stands today.
Let's hope there is more than a smoking crater of a planet remaining in four years time when the American economy has collapsed into chaos under his economic 'plans'.
On the plus side it will be far cheaper getting to Disneyland for a holiday

Don't know what we were all worried about: Donald's just said he is going to be everybody's friend whilst rebuilding America's infrastructure and putting millions of people back to work and doubling their growth and cutting taxes. Sounds great. Good job America isn't hemorrhaging money otherwise you'd have to wonder how he's going to pay for it all.

| There's a crooked street in Grimsby Town It's a well worn path I've travelled down Now there's ruin in my name, I wish i'd never got off the train And I wish I'd listened to the words you said.... ...Don't go down to Freeman Street Don't go down to Freeman Street You'll be lost and never found You can never turn around Don't go down to Freeman Street

He got in because the ordinary people are p,ssed off with the establishment A lot of the issues there are the same as here. The ordinary people are in despair with the politicians and are hoping that a change can bring improvement { Brexit] The same people who wont accept Brexit are the same type of people who will be doing the complaining about the US elections. A lot of it is down to trust. Change was needed as Brexit was.You see all the Remainers will be saying Trump is an idiot etc. They wont accept anything unless they benefit from it, so they dont want change because it doesn't suit them.Brexiters along with Trump supporters are branded as racist etc.by those who don't want change

The thing is, Trump's stated policies on the economy are exactly what the Republicans have done since the days of Reagan (which has failed miserably), but even more so!
When Trump enacts massive tax cuts for the rich which will line his own pockets enormously, the US economy is going down down down. It will make the days of GWB seem like a halcyon era. Watch their debt absolutely rocket.

As someone said earlier it's a brexit like protest by ordinary working class people who are working for the same money as they were 15 years ago, thanks to globalisation. The same people are frustrated that every other person in their community can't speak english and think the minimum wage is utopia. (just for clarity this is not my view) The worry is they've voted for what appears to be a nut case who manages to make Corbyn seem like a reasonable middle ground source of common sense. With trump in America and Corbyn here that would be a special relationship!!!
