Are you sure ?

If he had not even talked to Hurst about Shrewsbury after the game on Saturday because there was nothing to talk about,

He then ends up Monday morning signing for them,

The poor bloke does not know where he is never mine where he wants to be,

As I say Pete, very reliable source - personally pleased that he went but as they say, don't shoot the messenger!

Is he chained to PH? He was under contract so he'd a job here if we wanted it, otherwise he'd get compensation.

It's feasible that he enquired about the chances of stepping up to manager i suppose and who could blame him if he did? Right to make a clean sweep anyway i think.

I wouldn't have jumped off a tall building if Doig had been appointed, but I might have jumped off the garden shed

Everything about Doig's interview on Saturday said he wasn't keen to stay.

Grinning and sniffing  like a good un at Shrewsbury`s ground, he must be senile if he wanted to stay but went anyway.

Clean sweep was a good thing once Hurst left anyway

I believe you mate but if he had stayed would he have told us the truth or kept lying about not knowing anything.

OR

Did Hurst tell him on Sunday night,  I am going to Shrewsbury tomorrow , do you want to come with me.?

He might have said, yes I will go for the ride and day out not knowing he was going to sign for them.

That Chris Doig wanted the opportunity to stay.

What a load of gullshit. He could've stayed if he wanted to
