With the news that Pleasure Island closes for good at the end of the season,  can I be the first to suggest it as the location to build a new ground if Peakes Parkway doesn't come to fruition?  
Be the first club to build TWO grounds not in their home town! 😀

I can just hear the great and the good of Cleethorpes Golf Club and Kings Road choking on their G&Ts at the very thought of it.

Sadly its too small but I think it would be a great location, away fans could go down on the light railway from behind the Leisure Centre

I think its perfect, bus infrastructure in place, within walking distance of large urban catchment , brownfield site, close but far enough away from my house  , still close by the spiritual lure of the sea, could even start a water taxi service from GY Docks, less yorkies mingling around the area on a Saturday, great chippie on the door step......oh yes....i am in....i am a  YIMBY

The Grimsby Telegraph comment section is truly horrible, got a few people on there celebrating the news as if the loss of a tourist attraction and many jobs is something to celebrate. Pleasure Island wasn't the best but I hope to God that it's replaced by another attraction and not just more housing.

I remember when it was a Zoo and a stock car stadium, think it might have been a greyhound track as well but could be wrong.
