IlkleyMariner     Been watching GTFC since 1962/63   live in Chelsea & travel up to watch GTFC driving past Stamford Bridge on my way home, i own property in Maida Vale & in Grimsby, born in Cleethorpes, have a season ticket at Blundell Park,i have been to all the home and away games so far including all the friendlies this season. Just because i live in London what on earth makes you think i support Chelsea, you live near Leeds ! i suspect that you don't support Leeds, please do not rush to judge people because they now live in different Towns or Cities other than Grimsby.

Seeing as we're coming clean on who we are, I would like to point out that my fanny isn't at all fishy, and I was also born in Cleethorpes.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

I have never have owned a Chelsea cap & i must say it would be very odd to wear a Chelsea cap at Blundell Park, having said that i do see many people with Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal,Spurs, and very many Man Utd fans at mainly home games wearing those clubs regalia, however if they have a second team other than or as well as Town i personally do not have a problem with that as most Town fans do have a soft spot for other football teams & not always premier league teams, i myself support a second team other that GTFC & that is England.

But I do claim to be near the King's Ton.

I live near (enough) the original king's ton. The town where the first high kings of all England were crowned.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Ok enough of this surreal frivolity.

Dario Gradi is the best example I can think of of a very principled coach who showed loyalty to one club and spent all those years nurturing and developing a fantastic youth scheme at a very unfashionable club. The football produced under his watch was always a fluent and attractive style.

But credit must also go to Crewe for returning that loyalty over more than 30 years. As David Coleman would have said: "Quite extraordinary!"
