Going to be a familiar story this season, all ticket away games. Supporting the Mariners on the road has become very fashionable. Happy Days!

The away end at Field Mill holds 1910 supporters , so why are they only making 1500 tickets available?

Only right that season ticket holders get looked after tho why 2 tickets per person, in theory some people who only go to odd games could get a ticket from a season ticket holder and trust members or regular non season ticket holders can't get one.

one ticket per person for me

Why indeed only 1500...  and still dont understand why the same Notts police force had a 3 o'clock kick off
in Nottingham , but want a 12.15 one in Mansfield ??  Explanation please Nottingham Constabulary....

maybe limiting numbers so we dont have more away fans than home ones....

Don't understand their logic, they know how many we took to NCFC a week ago.
Perhaps they can afford to turn away money?

A couple of seasons ago they had safety cert issues if my memory serves me right so maybe something to do with that on an ongoing basis.

Firstly before I get massively "red crossed" I am a season ticket holder as is my dad and son and I will be going to Mansfield as will the lad if not working but what I can't understand is why one season ticket gets 2 tickets (providing I have read this right) for a game? Surely it should be "1 for 1"?

It's one of the benefits of having a season ticket, to be able to get a pair of tickets. It would be a right pain in the bottom if it was 1 for 1. It's fair enough that those who've splashed on a season ticket get to take someone with them. It won't be a great issue too many times this season.

Disagree to be honest why is it "fair enough" ? Feels quite unfair that someone who can't afford a season ticket or who is "exiled" and maybe gets to 70% of games could miss out to a mate or partner of a season ticket holder who wants a nice day out? Would said companion be travelling to say Dover away if we drew them in the 1st round of the cup (could happen) I doubt it.

Looking at our average home gates any allocation around 1500 should be 1 for 1 and then stubs IMHO.

May not be an issue as you suggest unless the local hosting police forces get involved and start influencing club policy which can happen.

Also.......... If 750+ season ticket holders took a mate to this game who did not have a season ticket then potentially 2000+ season ticket holders would miss out, justify that?

Season tickets holders can even buy these online right now, so if they miss out it's their own lazy fault.

You miss the point in that why should a season ticket holder can get "2 for 1" ?

Perk of paying your money up front and helping the club out. If you're then a season ticket holder who misses out from buying them too late then tough, should have got them earlier.

Like others have said its first come first served. Allowing sth stop buy two saves a lot of faffing about for the club and for sth. 1 for 1 would stifle ticket sales and make it a more difficult and stressful process. Granted this time some people will miss out, but that is due to the allocation. There are many with season tickets that won't go away. Hopefully we will get a bigger allocation, but i think the benefits of being a sth are pretty poor and to further remove them would be a mistake.

I'm not a season ticket holder.  I don't have a problem with those that are getting two tickets.  Most of us like to travel with at least 1 other.  They have had perks lost this season (vouchers, discount shirt etc), so good luck to em.
I may well review this post if i am unable to get a ticket though.

Just out of interest, how many does the Donny away end hold ?????

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

Good news.

I've got mine so I'm ok 😄

On a serious note, do we know if our allocation could be increased or is it just the initial lot ??

Really hoping some tickets left saturday on general sale, already booked train and was really hoping to do every league match for the 4th season running.
Already got accomodation sorted for exeter, plymouth & pompey so would be peeved to miss one so near, would buy ticket for home stand tho not sure how easy it is to get away with it.
Could not afford to lay out for a season ticket this year

The away end hold 1900. So why have they only given us 1500? Unless Mansfield want Grimsby fans in the home end that is...

If we filled the away end, Mansfield would have to pay a large fee for the police to be in attendance. This fee would be more than the potential £7200 that the extra 400 ticket sales would bring. Source - Mansfield club official.

Nearly 1200 to season ticket holders is a great effort.

A big thanks goes to mariner tommy. Without his help I don't think I'd have got a ticket for this game. Cheers mate

A win tomorrow and I think Town fans will look at trying to get into home stands as the buzz will still be going a not so good result and we will sell out but that's about it.
What a great away fan base we have cant wait for North West away games, so car can be left at home and enjoy the away days more.

Town fans thinking of going into home stand need to exercise caution. The natives may not be too friendly. Check out which is their family stand and be respectful would be my advice.
I'll wave to you from the Town end though 😄🖐🖐

Latest release from Club:

MANSFIELD TICKET UPDATE
We have 220 tickets remaining for our trip to Mansfield on the 24th September. Season ticket holders can buy two tickets per stub and MUST present stub A when collecting/purchasing tickets. If the stub is not presented, then the tickets will be put into the stock for sale.
Mariners Trust members can purchase 1 ticket per membership. Following the final whistle tomorrow, any remaining tickets can be purchased by those with Crewe Alexandra stubs. These can purchase 2 tickets per stub.

Managed to get a ticket. Very happy about this as it is my only Saturday off before I head off again. Got one just before they announced there were only 271 tickets left. Not cutting it fine, as such, but I was sweating a little earlier in the week. A good reason to be a Trust member. It's almost like having a membership scheme only better. The Trust priority after ST holders has served me well on several occasions being an exile.

Train tickets booked and night out in Manchester with some uni mates set up afterwards. Can't flipping' wait now! UTM!

Any on info on joining the trust? As an exile who goes to more away games than home I think it would be worthwhile for me to join.

I think it's £20 for the year of £100 for life. Don't quote me on that though. Then for games like this you get priority after season ticket holders plus you are contributing to the Trust which is a representative for the fans on club matters.

I will be honest and say this sort of thing annoys me. The Trust have been virtually begging for members these last few years yet people haven't joined because they are not sure of the cost v benefit.

It isn't about what anyone can 'get' out of it, surely it is about helping YOUR club at a cost affordable to all. ( Is it stil £12pa and you can pay monthly by standing order!)

If you benefit, as Paris has by getting a ticket when he otherwise wouldn't have, then great but that isn't the point.

This sort of thing annoys me. People are free to join the trust whenever they want for whatever reason. I renewed my membership earlier in the week so I could get tickets for Mansfield and my brother joined today so that we can go and support Town together. Over the years we've put plenty of financial (and emotional) support into the club. If the current ticket allocation has encouraged some to sign up to the Trust to ensure their tickets then great, if people don't fancy the extra £15 then fine. I'm an exile, don't get to many games and am well up for next week, if some want to gripe about chucking the extra £15 the clubs way and not going then so be it. It's their choice. If you want to have a pop at me for only renewing my membership feel free, but it seems a little churlish. Ultimately, from some thoughtful marketing, the club has another £30 in its pocket and I've no issue with that.

If that's the case, and that's only the sort of members the club want, then the club wouldn't offer incentives to members.  The club offers tickets to trust members first to encourage membership. It's clearly working so well done to all.  If we should be successful and our away support continues I would suggest an 'away' season ticket for £10 per season. This gives you first dibs on tickets for away games. I'd pay it.  1000 of those is £10,000 in the kitty.  Just my thoughts

I have got my ticket.
I am a lifetime trust member.
It is a bargain at £100 and would recommend all to do it if you can afford it.
Much cheaper than £12 a year in the long run.
I never have any bother getting tickets as a Trust Member.
Children are only £1 per year.

I am a season ticket holder, and a trust member, but I think it would be fair to put 10% of tickets for probable sell out away matches into a ballot. That gives everyone a chance.

As a exile I became a lifelong member because I'm committed to the club .I have always had an attitude that if you pay your money  as a regular supporter and ST holder y should have priority for all ticket games it's only fair.I don't really use the ticket option as obtaining tickets hasn't been a major problem

It does depend on where you start your journey

If you like if you can confirm your address, how many members of the family you will be carrying, your car make/model, where you keep your spare key and any burglar alarm codes i will send you a detailed route and itinerary so   i   you  can get the most out of the day.

No because it will increase the policing bill for Mansfield or we would have had at least 1700 tickets

Got mine straight after the game using my stub from today

Not long after that the club tweeted there are 32 tickets left which will be on sale Monday morning so we will no doubt shift them in no time at all

I was a bit worried I'd miss out going in after the game today but got what I needed....just pleased to have made it just before they all went

Great effort again by town fans....

I'm wonder if extra train carriages will be put on similar to the Notts County game.

I'm wondering if extra turnstiles will be open- two for 1600 Town fans sounds like long queues and frustration.

any chance of any more being released? Quite fancy it now (typical!) and surely Mansfield have spare capacity for a few more of us. From memory it's quite a big stand and imagine it holds in excess of 1,500.

Probably not
Quoted from Tinymariner

If we filled the away end, Mansfield would have to pay a large fee for the police to be in attendance. This fee would be more than the potential £7200 that the extra 400 ticket sales would bring. Source - Mansfield club official.
