The Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles was his finest hour (and a half), closely followed by Dr.Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein.

RIP Gene.

Great tribute that, Aaron. Are you writing any obituaries for any of the papers?

He was Willy Wonker!

He was great together with Mel Brookes and Richard Prior.
A lot of his films go back to my teens, so lots of good memories of his performances .

I was saddened to hear this, I have great memories of him as Mr Wonka (childhood memories) still watch it now with the kids. Very good actor and played some brilliant roles.

R.I.P Gene.

I'm surprised he only made 30 odd films loved him in the films with Richard Pryor and the woman in red.

Yep. Agree with this. Love him as Willy Wonka which has a sentimental significance to me. Sad loss.
