Proper footballer, as good on the ball as we've had for some time.

Where was he playing today codger?

Right midfielder in a 442 or as a central midfielder in a 433?

It was a sort of lop-sided 442 with Tombola left playing higher up than Berrett on the right - Berrett pulled in a bit narrow which left plenty of room for Davies to bomb on.

I thought Summerfield was a bit anonymous today - if we play 442 next week, I'd be happy to see Bolarinwa, Berrett, McAllister and Vose as the midfield behind Vernon and Jackson.

Was Berrett playing the Nolan role at Wembley? And is he a Nolan style player?

Uses the ball better than Nolan, better passer, not a player who takes players on like Nolan did but just neat and accomplished. McAllister does the tidying up and lets the others play.

Was impressed with the bloke today.
Plenty of energy & good vision.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I remember seeing Berrett play for Huddersfield in his early days, he looked a real prospect.

Not sure what happened to him there - think his progress got stunted and never really broke through as a first team regular.

Looks like he enjoyed four good years playing regularly at Carlisle. He's a solid player with plenty of experience (and still only 27).

it shouldn't be a problem for him to play decent football in L2 with his experience so i doubt fans will say be saying he's not good enough. If he can keep making those accurate passes the strikers will get plenty of chances and we can work the ball forward without giving up posession better than last season. I wont have to shout keep the ff***g ball so much now.
