The Premier League has announced a Premier 2 League for under 23 year old players plus 3 over age players.
This presumably kills off the bid to put B teams into the EFL.

However it might have significant implications on future TV deals for EFL

Regarding Premier League Academy teams in the EFL Cup, I notice looking at next weeks fixtures that a similar thing is happening in Scotland with SPL Premier League teams entering their Under 20's in the equivalent competition north of the border.

I really doubt most fans would give a monkeys about watching U23 teams. Let's face it, nobody really cares that much about watching the England U21 team so the idea punters would pay up to watch a load of Premiership youths who nobody has ever heard of seems unlikely, to say the least.

That said, you wouldn't put it past the PL to try and get even more of the TV money for themselves, given half a chance.

Has anything more come out about the Football League Trophy, last I saw the bigger teams were snubbing it.

Will it just be swept under the carpet for us to pretend it was never mentioned, hopefully alongside with Shaun Harvey?

Well any attraction from being drawn in a EFL group with a top team is gone the 6 biggest clubs had turned them down and wont take part

It will never happen, they would never want to commit to a full seasons fixtures, there are very few academy/U19 etc games played by the top teams that are not changed, cancelled at short notice or played 1pm on Wednesdays. They definitely would not want to play 3pm Saturdays or on their first team pitches/grounds!
