Is it on BT Sports 1 or BT Sports HD?

Listening to their chairman. Amazed that the ground has 3000 in it when they normally get 700-800.

Everything about the club is wrong. Come on Grimsby!!! Nice early goal will put pressure on them!

Looks 433 to me which I like... it's good to see PH trying something different. Looks like he's trying to get them to play on the deck through midfield. Also, I k ow he's much maligned on here but I Like the inclusion of Marshall on the bench... he has the ability to produce something quality even we need it. Nerve are kicking in now though!

I actually feel we might get back into this match now. That is the perfect attacking formation that we needed in the first half, but feel we have the attacking threat to score a few today.

Clem on BT Sport - Grimsby Town are the only club to have played in the top 5 divisions in England.....what about Luton.

Please could someone explain to me what they expect to get from those high floaty crosses other than to see their big defenders head them away with ease each and every time???? Bloody crazy!

Long ball after frigging long ball. What is the point?

There's no presure at all on the Braintree defence. Defences under pressure make mistakes, but giving the centre backs the kind of balls they can deal with all day long is ridiculous. If you're going to put high balls in at least get down to the bye line before you cross.

This is tactically inept, yet again.

All I see is hopeful long balls into the box - easy for their defence. We do not look likely to score. I am shocked!

It's painfully obvious that we should keep the ball and get at them. The lofted balls are getting swallowed up by their defenders.. Keep it on the deck!

Why???
That could describe every game since Christmas.
Hurst has not got a clue

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

How the hell do you see them as tiring? All they do is sit back and watch Town Hoof the ball around.... Not exactly tiring stuff.

This.
Need to create some actual chances.
Braintree will be well happy with that 1st half.
Comfortable for them.
Still plenty of time, a town goal could change everything-can we manage one though??

Think Bogle's done well, seems half a yard ahead of the rest of the team. Amond not involved, Pittman looks useless. 0-0 h/t no surprise to anyone.
All to play for but who's going to get the bloody goal??

Oh for a winger than can get to the byline. Crossing from distance will not break them down. We have to get around the back of them.

Disleys passing has been terrible, just sending bouncing bobbling balls about which results in the recipitent hoofing it. Some nice play between Nolan and clay but then we get to the final third and what the fook are they suppose to do, no movement up there at all. Amond and Pittman might as well not be on the pitch. And bogle can't even control a ball, although at least hes tryi ng to get involved

Have to say that the pitch doesn't look conducive to pass and move football. It's very bobbly.

Pitch is male masturbation, so stringing any passes together has been pretty tricky. Might be worth lumping Pearson on up front with half hour to go, as Pittman has done nowt.

A sort of Plan B?
I can see Pittman making way for Marshall or maybe East, he's short of matches and yeah, we have no real width at all here.

I can see us tiring long before Braintree. We look to be giving it everything. WTF do they do at training - nothing ever changes
We could have the ball in their half for 99% of the game yet id still fancy them to score first
As useless as Bogle is, at least he's getting involved and trying to make things happen.By far our biggest goal threat
Arnold for Pitman now

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Players dont appear to have any go in them..none of them are on the move...anticipating...loads of reacting but no anticipation.

There is loads of space out there but we dont have anyone aside from Nolan who can run with the ball....sacrifice a striker and put marshall or arnold in the hole behind them

Have to say that although bogles control and shooting has often been pants his movement is good and he is at least getting involved. Thes long lofted balls into the box are cack tho. When we do hav the opportunity to make something happen we slow things down with a pass back or sideways - we need to try quick stuff before they get organised, otherwise they will just lap it up

Bogle isn't useless - the movement is stilted and that's where we can win or lose this. Run at them Town force them to tackle and beat the man, create the space, square and score. Simples UTFM

More second balls won in this game than the past ten. Midfield hunting in packs and more aggressive. Pitch is terrible. Bumpy and unwatered. We can't start playing on the deck in our half. One bad bobble and game over. Looks like an attack v defence training match. Braintree timewasting from the first minute. Got to play a bit more football on the deck in the final third and be braver in trying to beat a man. Disappointed it's 0-0, but more encouraging than the 4-4-2 sh1te we've been served up recently. The early long clearances are frustrating but that pitch is easily the worst in the league, was never going to be pretty.

Hurst, a rabbit caught in car's headlights.

Can we really go four games against Braintree and not score just one single goal? If that is to be the case then he surely has to go.

I'm sure that goalie wouldn't have had that bottle thrown at him if he hadn't been time wasting so much. Wrong thing to do of course, but if officials don't apply the rules properly people will take the law into their own hands.

well done you boys, an emotive Disley at the end, thats what it means to your crew..... great winner and NOW MAKE IT COUNT,, and to be honest from just before  you equalised there was only one team playing "team football", your experience clocked in from then and to be honest they never looked like scoring ,,, but WELL DONE YOU LOT,

Didn't think we were going to do it until they gave away a very silly penalty and then there was only one team in it to be fair. Played really well after that, the WINGERS were brilliant.

Agree, Hurst got it right today. Went narrow, 3 centre mids, as we discussed the other day. His timing to bring the subs on was right, and Marshall pops up with a move almost immediately that led to the corner and penalty.

And as Tondeur and Buckley said, they were sitting off giving the Town midfield trio the time to pick out passes and moves.

We're all delighted by the win today.

I still doubt Hurst though. We've achieved nothing yet.

Dickby name dickby nature.

We're all delighted by the win today.

I still doubt Hurst though. We've achieved nothing yet.

Without automatic promotion what more could he have achieved at this point of the season?  Two Wembley appearance s speak for themselves, we have seen loads of goals and never looked like not being in the play offs

Marcus Marshall should be knighted. He single ha deadly changed this game, took it by the scruff of the neck and finally we had someone who could get through Braintree's resolute defence.

You're home then?

Freedom of Grimsby might be a start for Mr Marshall

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Following Football League promotions it should be decreed by the great old Town crier thag to a man the squad should be ceremoniosly granted the freedom of Grimsby at the Town Hall whilst the adoring masses look on.

A grand occasion to mark the dawn of a new era.. Some new ground news would be tremendous at this point btw planners

If and when. Though of course

Great turnaround from you boys. One more step, just one small step for man but a giant step for GTFC to go. That done you'll be able to step on the hallowed turf at Field Mill once more in the FL. Good luck at Wembley.

Braintree nearly scuppered our title bid three years ago when we lost in Essex the penultimate Sat of t'season. Glad you did the biz down there.
