When we were in the old Championship we ttought that it was the pits to be relegated to division 1.  Everything is relative and down to our own perceptions.

We were unlucky not to go up last year.   We were great against Eastleigh  (twice) and the better team against a strong Rovers team for 2 hours.  Look where they are now?
We were stronger than they were in ET.  How we would wish for that type of performances and consistency now?

12 months on we have descended into "nothingness".  Many errors and weak points have already been identifed on the Fishy.  Why does not Hurst seen the weaknesses, or why does he not correct them?   This is so frustrating for fans.

Key players like Arnold and Pittman have lost form.  We had 3 CBs in Pearson, Gowling and Toto that any 2 could be trusted in a tight defence, especially away from home.   Now all 3 have made errors. Pearson's latest only last week.  Gowling and Toto last night.

The midfield unit does not function properly.  We have not had a good strong midfield for 12 years. They contribute to not supporting the strikers or breaking down defensive teams.

Podge is the only striker we have getting goals. A big risk if he has picked up a serious injury. We still do not break down defensive teams.

The result and performance last night should not have beeen a surprise - in hindsight.  We were 2 goals down to Chester, a team with the most away defeats this season.   Bad away defeats in recent months are many.  The worst is conceding 4 goals to relegated Halifax. We used to have a great away record with the best defence.  Not now.

Why are we where we are now?  The players are not playing well enough, not playing  for each other and/or not playing to their full capacity for the manager. Many of the players seem to have lost their belief and confidence.   They don't believe in what they are expected to do on the pitch.

The manager must carry the can for these poor performances and results. He recruited nearly all the players.  There is also a worrying lack of squad players to change things when plan A is not working.  (Like last night) .

I wish that we back at Wembley again 12 months ago, to play that final again.  We were so much better then.

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. This saying could have been invented for Hurst.  We need a bold, decisive manager with more flexibility, insight
and  courage to make changes.

If we go out on Sun, then Hurst must go and probably at least half the team as well.  We start again just as Cheltenham did.  They still reached 100 points with a new team and losing key players.

You mean "when" we go out on Sunday.

If we do on Monday morning Hurst & Doig must go, give Dave Moore the Trophy Final for the day as all it really amounts to is a day out. Then we need to bring someone in with real experience and lot and lots of connections as we will need a clear out, .........This needs to happen quickly.

All of the above  needs to happen, none of it will while we have JF procrastinating over the future of the club.

Losing is not despair if we get an experienced excellent lower league manager out of the ruins

unfortunately Paul hurst is probably top of the non league list in both those departments, 4 play offs on the trot plus 2 trophy finals in five years, you'd struggle to find any manager in non league or lower league with a better record

Looks good on a CV   if they didn't know what we know a club would be in like a shot .  May be when hurst does go he might get something to work at another club  . However as it stands what have won ?  Has his style of football been effective over a season ? Limping over the finish line 5 seasons on the trot .  His PR skills are non existent  ,  his tactical skill has been brought into question  over 5 season . Managing to de skill strikers ,  and putting more square pegs in round holes than you find in a nursery.

So when we get done week in and week out by part time teams like Guiseley,  Braintree , Halifax etc  I would say he hasn't learnt much , but been blessed by the support from the fans and our chairman . One game left to decide where he wants to be in the history books of our once great team .
