Only because he is not 6ft 6ins,

Hurst said ( yet again ) " we did not win enough headers Its because we do not have a big target man"

Well why do we keeping pumping balls up from anywhere only for the opposition to head them clear. ?

Precisely. Why the hell can't we just play to players strengths, rather than ask them to do something else.

Here's a big tactical master stroke Paul.

If you don't lump it forward, you don't need a target man.

So after all this time PH has finally revealed his true preference on the style of play he would like to see.....................Does anyone know what John Beck is doing these days?

Similarly, if you don't have a target man, don't lump it forward. I still can't believe that we have so many highly experienced professionals who between them don't have the gumption to realise this and try to be a bit more brave with the ball at their feet. Whacking it forward against a set defence has never worked for us this season, so why have they persisted? I don't for one minute believe Hurst has told them to whack it long in these situations but he should certainly have stopped them doing it before now.

Hurst has long said that he won't sign a player who won't improve the squad but has then singularly failed to sign any sort of a target man when we clearly need one as an option. We're not nearly good enough at passing the ball and don't have any pace on the wings to get in behind the opposition defence so even a big, clumsy donkey up front would have proved useful at times this season in a bit part role. Just something to mix it up a bit in the opposition area and hopefully make something happen when we are chasing a game.

He's signed plenty of journeymen midfielders/wingers who haven't looked capable of improving the squad and have barely played in any case, so why didn't he sign a cheap journeyman lump of a forward? Big, big error on his part. Barring a big turnaround in performance on Sunday, one which will probably cost him his job.

I would love to see LJL paired up with Amond.

For all his critics, glaring misses and frustrating moments of falling over, we've so badly missed The Shop.
