First goal could be the key on Thursday. We have not lost a game when we've taken the lead this season and only drawn 4.

The message surely has to be to get at them early.

We're at our best just at the start of games and at the end, our vulnerable time is just before half time

Just a bit of a worry that we haven't beaten them this season, nor have we scored against them.
So I agree, we need to get at them early.

With how tight the tievlooks to be, it would seem that the 1st goal could be tie deciding

2005/06 season we beat Cheltenham twice in the league without them scoring. We all know how that ended at Cardiff.

The 2 fixtures against Braintree do not matter, it's about a 2 leg semi-final now

I never expected us to beat Fulham in our first play offs and I reckon Fulham definitely expected to win.

Anyway - it's not about form it's about bottle at this stage.

Braintree are an interesting outfit, in terms of the results they've had this season.  They've had a mix bag of results this season, slipping-up against some of the poorer sides in this division.

Whilst the form book etc can be thrown out the window for the play-offs game, it is worth noting how effective Braintree have been in how they've set themselves up against the top 10 teams this season.

Out of the top 10 teams, only FGR and Macc have beaten Braintree.
Out of the top 10 teams only FGR have scored at Braintree.

They've taken 4 points of the free-scoring and well-organised Chelts, whilst only conceding one goal in the process.

They may be "part timers" and managed by a PE Teacher.  Whilst we should not fear them, we should not underestimate them.  We will really have to be on top our game on Thursday night to get a positive result and produce a brilliant performance to get something more than a stale 0-0.  Start bright and high tempo.  Score early and they'll have to come out of their shell.  They won't be used to that away from home and I'm hoping that we then take advantage and pick them off with a couple more.
