He's a loss to the town as well as The Town.

Had the pleasure of meeting Pete a few times recently and despite being ill was a top man. Had a few good stories to tell about his time at town.

Thoughts with Ann and the rest of the family.

Rest in peace Peter and up the mariners.

Very sad news this evening and I join others in offering condolences to Anne and the rest of Peter's family. Earache and I had the pleasure of spending a match day in the boardroom when we played Chester not long after Peter stood down from the chairmanship the second time. While John was chairman by then, I remember Peter being very much the host and a lovely man.

Really sad news, I always said he's immortal and well he still is in terms of Grimsby Town.

In one of Grimsby Towns darkest years, he will forever be remembered making one of the biggest decisions in Grimsby Towns history for a road to success.

RIP.

Quite right and once again puts everything into perspective, maybe we should all remember it's only a game and chill a bit on some of the personal abuse that seems to happen on this website at times?

Peter made me and my friend very welcome, as guests for a Grimsby v Carlisle game (a great experience I'll never forget including walking on the pitch and analysing Russell Slades team tactics flip chart 10 minutes before kick off - even though we were about to lose) and he explained that John F  had been handed the reigns for the future (John was equally welcoming, although very busy during that afternoon). Peter was interested in which number Tiverton Street my late father lived in as a lad but I couldn't tell him then - although I know now.
Top man i.m.o.
